Backpacking with dogs

if you take your dog backpacking - check with your vet to see if you dog's feet are sensitive. the granite rock in Tahoe is tough on greyhounds for instance.

also, just an fyi, but all national forests are ok to camp in and dogs are allowed off leash. but, don't try that at state or national parks - like yosemite

Beverly Hills Pooch

When travelling to LA, there are great places to stay with dogs - from the W in westwood to

Carmel - heaven for dogs and owners

In my first post on travelling with dogs, i want to point out that Carmel beach (Carmel, CA) is probably the number one place in the world to take your pooch.

Not only is the city itself friendly - many great places to stay and the restaurants accept you dog, but the beach is heavenly!

i'll post some listings of dog friendly hotels later.

here is a start...
